Announcements

CARLI Updates

CARLI contract with SAGE for databases and CQ Researcher products is almost complete. These products will be available on the calendar year cycle.

CARLI board approved to spend money for buying e-books for consortium members.

CARLI is considering licensing Springshare products.

CARLI has signed a contract for OpenAthens with EBSCO and plans to implement it along with Alma.

Discussion

PRODUCT PROPOSALS

Statista: The committee decided to pursue a license with Statista

Royal Society: The committee determined there would not be enough interest to pursue this product.

Swank Motion Pictures: The committee expressed interest and decided to pursue a license with Swank.

E-Resource request proposal forms

CARLI receives submission forms from publishers/vendors and libraries. The committee members reviewed both forms and offered the following suggestions:

  • Publishers and vendors form:
    • Move license related information to the top of the form
    • Add: discovery integration, authentication information for an institution
    • Make pricing information a "required" field
  • Member libraries suggestion form:
    • Remove the question "What problem does it solve?"

Annual project planning

Kavita contacted Sunshine Carter at the University of Minnesota about presenting a webinar.

Some of the ideas the members discussed were:

  • How to de-dupe serials holdings and upload e-serials holdings via KBART
  • Using Alma Analytics and reports
  • Future clean-up projects after our migration to Alma

Consensus to have 3 1-hour webinars.

Tasks Assigned

Jenny will update E-Resource suggestion forms.

Amanda will reach out to Jenifer Holman at Hope College about a possible webinar.

Jenny will reach out to colleague at the University of Minnesota Morris about a possible webinar.
